I bought a rares tailgate years ago and it was shell only. I'm sympathetic to anyone else that had one. I pulled a spare tyre out of the van and the whole thing crumpled just after I re-sprayed it.
You can find the odd original tailgate if you look. I have three, ranging from very good to excellent.
