did'nt even last 12 months before the competition winner put it up for sale, i wonder who gave him advice on the price as he obviously has no idea.
a lot of work to get it back to an original.

$60,000..... Holy crap... Maybe if it had power steer and air and the interior was the correct colour.... Why would anyone restore a car and leave the bloody great heavy cast AC bracket on the engine doing nothing???
Don't think much of whoever restored it..... They couldn't even get the air cleaner decal correct and used a HQ one...
great if he gets the $$$$$ though.... Means mine will be worth more..

This IS the Crown Casino coke competition car.
The car is based at Ardrossan in SA, and the owner is likely selling at this price because of what the Coke promoters told them the value. Therefore there is no rush for this person to sell because they won it for what maybe a lucky bottle of soft drink.
If you wanted the car, I would suggest giving them a call and making a more reasonable offer because whatever they get, it is more than what they paid for it.![]()
Me too, and I don't like LH-LX sedans, but his is a very special car.
How about merging the threads?
Seems like we were only talking this thing recently.
Good luck to the owner if they achieve the asking price. Comparing this van to the value of other vehicles is pointless, as you would be looking for one particular vehicle, which is a van.
As for originality, there would probably be half a dozen 100% original sandman's in existence. They have all been changed throughout the year's, cam's, carbies, brake's, it's all been done long ago, and some recently. Today people class modification as making the vehicle more reliable.
When I had mine it was about making them go....Then making them stop also.
