    UHF Radio's

This is a bit of a long shot but I thought some forum members may have some old UHF radio's laying around in the garage collecting dust from back in the day. I am looking for a Phillips FM320 CB radio from the late 70's - early 80's for my HDT replica van. fm320sm.jpg Does anyone have one of these unit's laying around?

Not many UHF's though. They really only took off in the late 80's.

agree.... Possibly even later into the 90's. my first CB radio was a 23 ch ssb Cobra in 1976. In 1978 I got one of the new 18 ch CB's, a Pierce Simpson Super Panther ssb. To licence it for a year was $25. In 1986 it was in my VB Commodore when it was stolen and they nicked the CB. I replaced it with a new 40 ch ssb Pierce Simpson Super Panther. I've still got it somewhere in my container I believe.

late 70's to early 80's would have had the old am ssb 23 or 18 channel CB's..... No UHF back then.

I still have a Cobra Base Station converted to 40 channel AM/SSB 27Mhz.
I wouldn't have though the HDT would have been using UHF. But they 100% were around from about 1978/9

Here is one that just sold for a whopping $66.50 http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/PHILIPS-F...-/271297031509

I think Absinth & wbute are correct. I have just gone back to the emails that I got from the team manager and he makes reference to a 27 meg CB radio. The owner of the No.17 Commodore finally found the original radio this morning and emailed me thru the make and model of the radio I assumed it was a UHF. My mistake.

That model UHF, Phillips FM320 was from about 77 or 78 when it was released as the first legal FM CB as it was planed back then to replace the 27 meg. So they might have used them.
