Bugger, engine bored 60 thou already and rust in bore .when i took the heads off the head gaskets were broken and stretched in the same area on both sides of the block.looks like they fitted the wrong gaskets or fitted them wrong.
Guess that's why it was free. Pity you're so damn far away. I'd be keen but freight's going to be a killer.
How many bores are rusty?
If I was your original block you would fully resleave it but money for a close block is different to a block that is original just my thought close date code and number is cool, but the right eng number would be better. Hard to find nowadays !
Hk the two centre bores on both sides .so four are rusty.
The cost of re sleeve wouldnt be cheap thats for sure
Maybe it'd clean up with a hone and a new set of pistons and rings...... depends on how bad the rust is. It may still be useable, I've seen a lot of bores clean up well when they 1st looked too rusty.
