Holden did colour code GTS rims in the HZ models. God awful 99% of the time. Never factory with chrome outer rims and no they should not have come off a GTR-XU1 unless it has had a stud change.
It was a common thing in the 80's and 90's to have the centres cut out painted and welded into wider chrome outers which these appear to be. The cost of re-chroming the rims would be more expensive then buying new ones (as it has always been). Blast this set and paint the whole wheel.
LC GTR-XU1 rims were pressed steel with caps and dress rims from memory and LJ were alloy (Sprintmasters?). Did I get that right? Either way were very different to N66 Ralleye rims.

Nunc est bibendum...
Sprintmasters were for the '72 V8 XU1. They were given to 200 or so LJ XU1 purchasers in the boot. Rest of LJ XU1 had steel rims like LC and I think the cars prior to the last lot they were optional. Last 150 odd cars may have had them as standard too, can't remember.
Those GTS wheels are not 6 inch either. Probably 7 or 8. Good to fix up and put a big set of tyres on to fill out the guards.
They are 8inch I've got 235 on the front and 245 on the rear
Paint them up and use them then.
I'm going to pay the expense and get them recromed and powder coated the centre caps does the lion has a tail or no tail the ute is a 12/1978
Strip them and try the molasses treatment, you will be surprised at the result
