Hi,
Just looked up paint codes and GMH list 568 15950 as Chamois but dont list it as metallic or solid so what does it come under?
Are all sandmans metallic paint and would they have used Chamois on a hj sandman?

The paint line is 568 for solid paint and 567 is met.
Chamois is therefore a solid colour
Early HJ codes from 15940 to 15948 are Metallic in alphabetical order from Antelope to Sepia then the solids start with 15949 Absinth through to 15956 Sepia if you know the system then it is very logical...........................
except there are always a couple of spanners along the way![]()
So would it have been used as a sandman colour if its a solid I thought they all had metallic paint?

There would be more with solid paint then metallic. I have no idea how that myth got started. It is though a good indicator on a HQ of it being a Sandman (especially a Belmont).
But it doesn't have to be. I doubt anyone would have ever chosen Chamois colour for a Sandman.
Ugly paint colour! The whole van was povo though. No forced air ventilation and a 202??

Yep super povo all over.
Yes, but why would anybody ever have chosen it?
I agree "if" it is a Sandman and the body is OK it is a prime candidate for a modified Sandman. Couldn't ask for better and the price is realistic.
Still a sh!t colour. Go out and paint the [strike]town[/strike] Sandman Chamois... WOW
Err, strike tags don't work with this forum :O(
What colour stripe were standard on a Chamois Sandman? Lets see if can get any uglier!
Innuendo,
Hows this for an ugly duckling then,
