Not much. Straight bolt in, just use a V8 tailshaft. Same brakes. You can leave your brakes on the car and just change the housing, axles and brake tubes and flexible hose. The V8 tailshaft would be from a HQ-WB ute, van, wagon or statesman with V8 3spd or 4spd or trimatic.
They used Holden one tonner uni joints in 80 series Chamberlain tractors. They were absolutely bloody useless in this application. High torque loads and long constant revs destroyed them. When they let go they smashed off the hydraulic pump. However they last ok in a Holden one tonner even with a huge horsepower engine going down the drag strip.
