It seems a real shame. I obviously don't know all the circumstances, but is there another way? I'm sure somewhere like the Holden Museum in Echuca would love to have it on display? It's a semi long term solution to having no room. A beautiful example. Not trying to change a personal decision, but curious to see other options that may help. Good luck.

Shame to sell, but it is just a car. If you get what you are happy for it move it on. Someone might pay close to what you are asking for the quality of it, despite it being a 6cyl and green. Anyone with their head screwed on close to right will know that they couldn't even build a replica in that quality starting with a perfect bodied HJ base van for what you are asking, unless they did everything themselves which would take years.

Your thread on here is worth 20k on its own. Potential buyers can see what is under the paint and how much effort you went to!

Personally with cars I enjoy the journey more than the satisfaction of using the end product. Maybe GTS will tick the 'complete' box with this one and needs to free the $ up to enjoy the journey again. Yeah it might cost a lot of money but it's a pretty clean hobby when compared to drinking smoking and gambling. Great van GTS. Good luck with the sale!

goodluck with the sale. I hope the next buyer makes it easy for you to sell. If you still have in 12 months I will take it off your hands.

A great van, I doubt you will have any trouble selling it. Excellent work
    on the restoration, fabulous, very
    popular colour. A bargain price.
All the best with your next project.
    Cheers.

If i hadn't spent a fortune on the new shed i would snap it up, even if it's not a Q.

HJ is a far better buy Jennie. You won't buy a XW or XY in this condition for anywhere near the money, and when you do it'll be a 6cyl 3spd that escaped being made into a replica GT or used to rebody or create a GT.

Byron we Found a shed find xw near forbes, on carsales. Absinth, myself and Rodney went over to look. Great condition genuine gt a great survivor for $40k. Absinth and I both asked where the id plates were, only to be told they had been stolen from the car in 1986 and the only reason he got the car back was a meter reader saw it under a tarp in a shed, and recognised it. Long story short it's legit he has papers he is second owner, but as there were no tags it can only ever be a replica or left as is, which you could do as quite good original paint. I offered him what we felt it was worth in folded notes and he almost sold to me. I notice it's now $35k and still not sold so I hope I get a phone call. I just don't want to throw $50 plus at it in a resto for there to be no proof of authenticity.
