Yes I did walk away Byron, and I know it's worth nothing without plates. I offered him similar to what you suggest Vombil, and yes innuendo it appears dodgy but there is a lot of police stuff with it, and change of plates details from Rta, if we buy it it will just have a small tidy up inside and a big polish. It has original motor and the downside is it is Auto I would prefer a top loader for an old girl like that. Although Rodney thought I would find it easier to drive as very heavy in steering etc.Originally Posted by HK1837

What is is good for is if you find a basket case XW GT to restore, use this car for all the bits.
BUT, it was only a GT. It is the Ford equivalent of an SLR5000, a GTR or a HQ 308 GTS sedan. It isn't a GT-HO ie the top dog in that series. If it was me, i'd be buying something like this:

take one for a drive b4 you buy Jennie, as much as i like XY-XWs the later model XA-XBs are much more refined,have you considered a GS ?
even the shock tower numbers will confirm GT from Ford, no tags is a big turn off...

not when they've been ground off and the engine number stamped there instead...... Second thing I looked for after finding tag missing. It was a nice honest surviver car, damn shame the ID was missing.
