Thanks for the encouragement Mick. I trying to get as much done as possible lately as I am off to Australian Historic Motorcycle Championships at Lakeside this weekend as three of my brothers are racing. Then I'm in for an op next week and off work for two weeks.

that repair was always going to end in tears. bog on top of spots rather than seam weld. unpick it and do it again mate

I have been doing a lot of rust repairs lately, but have now turned my attention to the engine. My engine No. Is QR 912377 Does this equate to 12/77 date? Casting No. On Timing Cover is 23L7 which I think is 23 November 77.
