Thanks Mick. As you can see I have found a better rhs GTS guard. Picked it up from Jimboomba two weeks ago.

Thanks Alien. My Irish panel beater and I had a good look a few weeks back and someone has done some pretty good repairs at some stage.
This weekend's effort - found some more rust, but not that much. All going well.Sandman_resto_8 001.jpgSandman_resto_8 004.jpgSandman_resto_8 005.jpgSandman_resto_8 009.jpgSandman_resto_8 010.jpgSandman_resto_8 011.jpgSandman_resto_8 012.jpgSandman_resto_8 020.jpg
I'd want to know more about whats under that bog in images 4 and 6. Somebodies been at it before and you'd want to know exactly how it was dealt with.
Yes I know what you mean. Still working on it. That will be next weeks job.
if you're going to dig deep it'd start by taking the windscreen out. there should be a bitta gold in there for ya!
in pic2 i think you will need to cut/unpick cowl to access the plenum chamber for repairs - looks like its rotted from the inside out- this section and the top cowl section having rust would also explain the rust in the bottom of the a-pillar behind your guard. its a big job. you might look at taking out dash, glove box and heater ducting to get at it from the inside/underside too.
bit by bit.. you'll get there
