I think HSV Senator and GTS models will become collectable and also cars like VZ SSZ that they didnt make many of. I used to walk straight past the commodores at GM day but now its interesting to see what people are buying just for a weekender.Last year there was a few VN and VP SS commodores, low Ks and in mint cond and another one that caught my eye was a VS V8 Berlina wagon (not sure if it was factory V8) but if it was it would be quite rare.We have just bought an ex police V8 VS and they are stamped police on the build sheet and also has BT1 on the compliance plate so maybe in years to come the EX cop cars may become collectable.

VK Group A, VL Group A, VL Walkinshaw, VN Group A are all obvious cars. Value of the VN Group A could end up the highest. These are all the last Holdens with any conection to racing thanks to V8 Super cars.
Then early HSV cars. Especially VG Maloo as they started the ute craze of the 90's.
sleepers will be any other Brock cars. I can see Magnums being highly valued.
I also agree that VN SS up to about VR SS will become interesting cars like the HQ SS has done.
Another sleeper may be the VP GTS. They were a real tribute to the bright in your face cars of the 70's.
No more cars will reach the lofty heights of the Phase Three I don't think, in value so far in front of its contempory cars that is.
It depends on how much throw away cash gen x has in ten years time I suppose.

I reckon the only ute that will be collectable will be a VSIII type2 SS. The rest are either too common or too ugly.

I don't think many HSV sedans will be collectable bar the Group A cars. The rest are just ugle plastic looking mass produced stuff.

Apart from that the HSV GTS coupe and Coupe4. I reckon a really nice well looked after 2001 V2 Monaro will be worth more than a GTO in the end.

I still can't see any of it being worth hanging onto.

The early HSV cars are not so overdone. You have to remember that these cars are going to be desirable to a different generation.
Yeah I thought about the VS SS ute too. But the VG Maloo has way lower numbers and way higher desirability.

I'd still be banking on the VSIII SS with sequential motor. Only 300 made in only 2 x colours and they look nice. Maloo is ugly.

funny how people refer to the CV8s etc as plastic cars i wonder if the owners of EJ-HRs said the same thing when the HK-HGs were released with their plastic dash, grille and console(i know hk still had a metal grille) or is it all about steel bumpers?

I think the people are stuck on the bumpers. The stupid thing is is that behind the plastic cover is a ...... Steel Bumper! (Well atleast on the VY/VZ)

I think the VP Senator will be one to watch out for. Not so easy to find, but theyre out there. Its one of the later plastic bumper cars i actually like. They seem to be holding their value well
