But my other question to hk is my 06 ve ss has been built at the hsv factory as I wanted a sunroof , pedal change, stripes ,leather wheel and shifter in red and black( same as outside) it has the hsvi plate on it so what have I got if not a Holden ? You are the guru but I've got a bit of both .
Do you mean HBD or HSV? The car is branded a Holden and had 3rd party work done to it, same as A9X's. It is still a Holden branded car.

So just askin as Im now running out of shed space and Im thinkin I should stop putting Ks on the VH so im thinking of getting a sensible daily and selling the commy. Not sure if I want to yet cos I do really love driving it as it goes like the clappers, but do you think its something that will become quite valuable down the track with Holden moving offshore? Its a bit of a rare beast so im in two minds. Could i live with myself if i sell the VH to do up a ford!
I've heard of those SL/E's but never paid much attention to them. No idea if it is worth keeping or not, but if it is an L31 car it'd be worth keeping if you can afford the space and to maintain it.

That blue ute has been proven a fake. It was made from parts from a wrecked Magnum Statesman. The only real Magnum ute was built in 1987 from a second hand 6 cylinder WB ute. It was built by HDT for a customer. It had a bench seat, stroked 5 litre and a column shift auto with a Statesman dash. It was white.
That blue ute looks good, but its not genuine.

So what are all the imported cars Holden are going to be selling in the future? If HSV is not Holden then none of their imports are either?

I used to own one of those VH Top 30 SL/Es, it was the Tony Packard one from memory. Basically a special build VH SL/E, fully optioned with a Shadowtone-like paint scheme & a Brock Group 3 engine. As always I now regret selling it !

Why will the imports not be a Holden? They are now, they are branded as a Holden vehicle. A Holden Colorado is a Holden, doesn't matter where they came from. Unlike the Chevrolet cars and trucks and Bedfords which are not total imports, many were assembled here some with GMH engines and transmissions, but they are not a Holden as they are branded otherwise.

When Holden manufacturing ceases in this country will any new Holden models be produced at a standalone Holden factory overseas or will they come from other manufactures and just be rebadged ?

Well.... HSV cars are built in a Holden plant and then exported to a HSV plant to be modified. They are still equipped with a Holden issued VIN? Cars that Holden import from another plant overseas and arrive are then issued with a Holden VIN right? They are now a Holden. HSV would need to remove the Holden issued VIN to claim it was a HSV brand car and not just a Holden modified by HSV wouldn't it?

Get on Bertie Street web site and you will find some information there. I have talked with the current owner of the Magnum ute and also know a previous owner and also through family relatives know of the bloke who payed HDT to build the Magnum ute originally.
Can't comment on that video really. Seems likely that if they were not sure if they built three utes that they can't really remember how many they built?
I know that blue ute is not a factory built one though.
