I may be wrong, but I have a feeling Holden did a Torana van as a styling exercise or a show special back in '75 or so.

Just a Torana with a wagon-type roof and filled-in sides from memory.
Vans.... This is the 2nd time round the block, 40 years later! talk about turning back the clock!

Its nice to dream somebody built a car like that once, it inspires creativity.. lol, but, nope.

Have a look at the front downwards line of the passenger door. See how it pretty much meets the corner of the windscreen/A pillar? On LH - LX Torana, the door line is forward about 2- 3 inches (or more) in front of the A pillar, on HQ-HZ its even further forward, this forms a space which the door hinges are housed in.

You'd need pretty compact hinges, its definately photo art. But that doesnt stop you redesigning the door frame and hinges in your sleep (pleasant dreams!).

Personally I reckon the problem with a Torana panelvan is there not enough room for the telly!!

Haven't got a pic at hand, but that Torana ute that was made with a shortened/narrowed H-series ute rear section was a nice thing.
Something like that, but using a van body, would work well.

Pretty sure the black one is the one I mean. Had a tilt front on it and looked like a factory version.

That blue one is now matte black with flares.
