Now you have me intrigued with this steering wheel and will have to go and take some photos of it so we can compare it to the rare spares ones available. hqhzvans Im going to give the hq sandman ute a good crack as close to original as possible, as I know have two kingswood sandman utes to make one really nice one from. The new one I just picked up has next to no rust and the door linings, dash , floors are great It had a canopy on the back so it has looked after the body really well. You must have got around Ballarat swap meet and picked the eyes out of the gts wheels before I got there as all the ones I saw where way over priced for the condition. By the way the new ute I picked up was less than 2 ks from home and I have gone past it hundreds of times but it had a hj front on it so never looked twice! You just never know whats sitting around under you nose till you have a good look!
Got any pics of the ute seavan
I have what i believe to be an original sandman horn cap , i saw it at a swap meet bout 10 years ago ,just bought it ..... not to sure how you can tell original though.
Here are the tags and a really bad pic of the ute but will get more up once I get it in my shed!

pj350, is there anything on the back or Identifiable marks on the cap?
That's an awesome find. I lot of work to come but a great rare Sandman Ute in a desirable colour combo.
Only a 253, 4 Speed but a great discovery considering it was in disguise with the new paint colour and HJ nose.
Does the chassis number match?
The cap is irrelevant. It's only the badge insert that is unique.
Those tags look like they've been off Seavan - different rivets. Do they match the chassis?
