I always thought 351 was only available in ESP when I had my XE(with retrofitted 351). I've seen a fair few T-code XE's since then though, pretty much all white. My guess is you had to have police pack or a real good relationship with your dealer.

Ah whatever
I know this is of the subject but in a way the 351 is back for a short time with 500 for aust and 50 for NZ fpv GT's
Know as the GTF 351 the F is for final and the 351 is for the kilowatts of the motor
I believe It has all the fruit ever a gt cover with the strips on it which is only available with the car and can't be purchased otherwise .
Possible the collector car of the future
If you want one I don't like your chances I believe a country fpv dealer for instant has 3 car coming and 10 expressions of interest and a Sydney dealership has 6 cars and 43 expressions of interest

Yep, I believe they will all be sold and the majority will go to collector's. They will be stored away and never driven unfortunately, just like every other "collector" car they make these day's. Every purchaser want's to.."or think they will"..make a profit on it. Those people remind me of scalper's at rock concert's or sporting matches, they stop the genuine people from purchasing a ticket, because they want to try and make money.

I haven't but I think Dr Terry had one or knew of one. There was someone on here before who was working at Sydney Water or somewhere and they had a few new WB one tonners with 5 litres in them.
A Kingswood ute would be something that I would love too!
i met a bloke yesterday who walked into the dealership back in the 80's to fill in his order form for a WB kinga ute. 5L V8 WAS NOT AN OPTION. He begged and pleaded and they said NO WAY, only in a statesman. 3 months later his 253 4-speed WB kinga ute arrived. purchased for 11,500 and sold 3 years later for $11,000. not bad motoring!!

Reading through these comments still am unsure where it all ended up on 351's in XE's. You could definitely get a 351 in an XE S-Pak as I worked at a Ford dealership in the mid to late 80's (used to wear my HDT jacket during winter) and we had an original low mileage 351 XE S-Pak traded in on a new Fairlane. The XE was so mint we kept it on the showroom floor which was usually reserved for new cars only. It sold in a matter of days even though it was a dark metallic brown colour (Russet).
Down to 3500 now. if i was down that way i would have that. Surely it would have to rate as collectable for a ford guy. Last V8 ford panel van . You could probably get it for 3000 cash.
Did the seller say that the 351 V8 was factory fitted ? If not, it's not really a rare collectible, although any XE van with tailgates instead of doors is a bit rare.
I'm not sure that it was the last V8 Falcon van. I believe that the last V8 Falcon panel van could have been the XH series II (1998). This was the last of the old shape before the AU intro. 2 of my clients have V8 utes in this model. Was the XHII van also available with a V8 ?
Ford have always been very restrictive with the V8 option the commercials. In the XR series, the 289 V8 was optional on all sedans & wagons, but not commercials of any type. An XE van with a 351, seems an odd combo to me. They were commonplace in XY, XA, XB, XC, but no so common in XD & XE.
With Holden you could order any HK ute or van with a 307 from day 1. I think the only restriction was the WB not being officially available with the 5-litre.
