    No L15 AFAIK.

    L13 is 1600 Gemini, but the 1300 Torana LJ/TA was L60 Hi-Comp & L59 Lo-Comp.

    How do you get Opel 1900 to abbreviate to BBO, Byron ?

    Yes, I've had many an argument over that one. I've even seen a used car dealer forced to give a refund because the Consumer Affairs inspector said that the HZ had been modified by having a 'dodgy' TH350 fitted in place of the 'original' TH400.

    Got to say if I read M41 on a HZ tag I would have expected a TH400 gearbox.

    L13 came from Warren's book, lots of errors in it but I thought maybe because it was the first T car maybe they used the L13 code there first?

    BBO = Big Block Opel.

    About 5th '79 or thereabouts the change happened in both HZ and VB. So on GMH assembled vehicles both M41 and M40 can mean TH400, and M41 can mean TH400 and TH350. Confusing hey? Especially since M38 was used for TH350 in HJ on South African vehicles.

    Yeah see, it just got too modern for me to care about. Once the UC style influence infected them I just lost complete interest.
    M38 made far more sense. M35 would have even made more sense.

    Don't forget WA was set for release in 1972, and a WA looked just like a WB. Models were meant to go HQ (instead of HG) and WA straight after. HJ-HZ and HG were simply fallback positions once WA was cancelled and WB delayed.

    L15 wasn't the 1.5 engine in the LC Astra was it? Seem to remember they used Nissan numbers in those.
