this should help highlight my point.... HQ 308 m21 factory 3 seater ute... no doubt a rare and desirable combination (ie like sandman) but still only worth crumbs as its incomplete, body is shot and its a full resto
BQZ
May have been re-shelled or may not be a Sandman, still a very nice colour combo but, I wouldn't mind owning it. Got a nice windowless shell looking for a home too...
Are those red looking bits at the rear remenents of weld where the console mount was cut off? Also there are screw holes either side of that plate at the front which look to be the correct position the console would screw down at the front???
I wouldn't write it off as not a Sandman just yet.....
4/75 HJ XX7 Sandman Panelvan ... Persian Sand currently restoring
7/76 HX Monaro 4dr 308 4sp... Absinth Yellow and rusty as hell.. SOLD
3/77 HX Sandman Panelvan ... Absinth Yellow and rusty as hell .. SOLD
Me either. Theres been some butchering done in that area and it looks as though this van (if a Sandman) had all its good gear stripped, including the console and probably it's mounting bracket. As has been stated on this site a thousand times before, there was a time when vans were worth squat and a Sandman was a good vehicle to pillage for parts to be put on utes and tonners.
