I was toying with using the 4BBL throttle body on a SBC in one of my HK GTS's i'm toying with at the moment. And hook it up to a Delco ECU. The McGee throttle body is only about 35mm high so it'd give better bonnet clearance and still look like a carbied engine.

Would look good. Check out code $12P on delco hacking. You can set a scaler for minmjm pulse width at idle. As you would be running 4 decent sized injectors you set idle to be 1 pulse not double. I've never set them throttle bodies up myself but I've seen the end result a couple of tines.

These look really interesting. Great idea! You guys all know a lot more than me about the poindexter side of things! I dont know what half of that stuff is but the idea is cool. I imagine most half decent mechanics would find this pretty easy to install too. I might look at getting a setup for the torana.. Just had a little look on ebay just to get a rough idea of the costs and it looks like youd be forking out around 2 to 3k for a setup depending on the fuel supply/return/pump options and horsepower you wanted etc...

There seems to be a few companies making these products too. Does anyone know what would be the best or most appropriate setup for a 253?

I can only say from experience get the biggest unit you can afford because the systems are tunable and transferable and if your limited to the projected output of a 253 that's all its going to be good for.
If in the future you want to force induction or put it on a big block you'll find the system lacking.
My holly 2bbl system would work up to 270 hp . I should have opted for the 4bbl as it would have been more versatile.
    I hope this makes sense.
