I don't reckon it looks too bad, get rid of the wheel covers at the back-which probably have a fair bit to do with its fuel efficiency- and it would be pretty slick. Looks a bit like a Datsun or Mazda from the late 70s round the back quarters.

Not to rain on the conspiracy parade, but it was recently in the USA. They're only building 250 and they are earmarked for Europe - you know home of Royal Dutch Shell and BP? lol

Nothing in that first article said that the VW XL1 is a hybrid. It made you believe that somehow VW was getting 300 MPG out of a petrol motor, by cleverly adding steam. If you read the jalopnik article it tells you it is a 800cc turbo diesel hybrid.
False reporting or a just a little dishonest, methinks.

That electric car movie makes electricity seem so much better than oil! If only electricity didn't require massive amounts of fossil fuel to be used.
