Ls1 engine

Hi, I gave just bought a very cheap vt Calais with a ls1, the question I have is it had a engine replaced at 80k under warranty , what was the different between the original engine and the replace?, I know the originals had the piston slap and oil surges, looking at donoring to the hq.

Yes, the early LS1s had piston skirt clearance issues, but to my knowledge the warranty replacements had superior (Australian made) pistons fitted.
