Before going any further im looking into finding a HQ body that I could put onto my chassis. Sadly by the time I also change the cowl to suit the HQ premier front ive got and repair the 4 sections ive found on this side it might be easier and neater in the long run if I do a body swap

You haven't shown anything that really wouldn't be expected in any HQ-WB Van body. All looks perfectly repairable by a competent panel beater.
Certainly haven't show enough bad to justify another body.

Thanks innuendo think I'll fix up the parts I can confidently do and as you say take it to a competent panel beater. I fixed up a few patches behind the front gards and in the sill. Was also thinking I might see the wreckers about a ute side, would feel better knowing it's not half a kg of bog on the side

few photos of the repair I did here, worked well I was lucky the rust wasn't set down into the rail so I was able to cut and weld just above it.
