    Angry No More "Fat"....

I had a customer in the shop today with a boy in the local Primary school. We got talking about how kids are getting trophies for participation and not success etc.... and he told me that as of today, the school has outlawed the use of the word "fat".

It is not to be used in any way, spoken or written, and is regarded as an insult. Any child using the word "fat" will be subject to punishment (although I think punishment is also outlawed so that will be interesting).

Is this a local thing or National/Statewide?

I can't imagine the school implementing this unless it was a directive from the Education Dept.

Another case of more cotton wool to protect kids from reality......
Vans.... This is the 2nd time round the block, 40 years later! talk about turning back the clock!

I've said it before.... "The worlds gone mad!"
The bigger problem though is that most people have gone with it!

Yep seems odd, is there any chance he meant use of the word "Phat"? As in phat snowboard, or phat sound?

Yeah it's madness. We were watching the football and I commented on how the fatso that plays for Manly was fat. My kids told me that I shouldn't say that!
The one thing I have noticed is that they are never corrected on any mistakes now. No capital letters, or punctuation, it's all ok now. Grr.
Common sense is no longer something regarded as necessary.

The one I like is, it's like they are throwing the dog a bone, " Wow! Have you lost weight?" when they know perfectly well you haven't , it appears some kind of perverse motivation or just a shallow compliment assuming I'm needy and shallow. lmao

maybe the fat kid needs to be told he/she is fat so they do something about it before it's too late for them to lose it
