    Its not club rego though. Club rego is still available. If the car passes rego then the RTA should have already taken care of dodgy cars. I can't really see how being part of a club that you have no interest in helps anything really. If you drive like a peanut the police should take care of it regardless of if you pay for 60 days or 365. Just my opinion. Car interest does not need to be tied to a club unless they offer compulsory insurance like competing on a dirt bike does.
    After spending some time in the U.S. I realise how tied down with stupid rules we are.

    I think in the grand scheme of things our laws are in line with the majority of western countries. The laws in the U.S. are just incredibly lenient. Personally, I'd rather our slightly stricter laws that keep the rorters off the roads and protect your average joe. Have a look at some of the builds people in the U.S. do. Not the good builds by fabricators with a well equipped workshop, the backyard hacks with no clue doing tunnel and crossmember modifications on rusty sh!7heaps using the cheapest Chinese welder they could find. I'm glad that crap gets kept off the road.
