Slightly different outer/inner guard profiles so fitting kit and mudflap shape is slightly different. Have seen some that have a bracing piece that is affixed to the rear side of the inner bolts that braces across to the inner guard (like the later commodores used to) - to make the unit more resilient to reversing up gutters etc, but looking at the parts catalogue for the WB it doesn't show a bracketted version that I can see.

As Dave says, rear whhel arch is different on HJ on sedan and wagon plus WB Statesman. The whole back end is different from the hip line down and they are wider across the beaver. Stick your head under the bottom of the rear quarter of a HQ sedan and then on HJ. HJ-HZ is flat, HQ is sharp. The extra width is why post HQ rear bars don't fit utes or vans very well but HQ wagon does.

    Read this again Gene.

The only different ones are rears on HJ-HZ sedan/wagon and WB Statesman.

Starting to feel like I wish I never asked the question. I just booked in for an hour on the couch with the local shrink.
