Can't help with the trailer, but was talking to a mate about car trailers on the weekend as I'll need one for my big move in a week or so. He tells me that he's found EDIT cooks hire not coates END EDIT to be the cheapest for them.

Likewise I don't have trailer but have used Cook's Hire at Seaton (cnr Tapleys Hill Rd and Dumfries Ave - 8356 2036) for interstate round trips in the past.
Has been a fair few years now since I last needed one, but at that time they were one of the few places that were happy for their trailers to go interstate - their trailers seemed well maintained - good suspension/bearings/brakes - towed really well, so may be worth a call.
blocker..ring a couple of the big rental places as they often do one way renters and if you are really lucky they may have one in melbourne that needs to come back to adelaide..
