Hj ute sandman

A nice ute to look at from the outside but for those who would take it back to standard you'd need to spend up big. The statesman front, interior has been completely changed from 64V (gazelle), no pic of the dash - has it been sprayed black or replaced with an 18V unit? It is an early Melbourne HJ build yet no sign of black firewall and (genuine question) why isn't the body plate painted?

Hi,
I have a HJ 308 sandman ute built July 1975 with a 308 . It came with 2 engines. So can anyone tell me what engine numbers are around this build date as one does have a casting date of June 75
