Yeah, I thought they might sound Ok done like that, good to know! I'm considering doing mine (vans) with one of those and the original radio, and then a totally separate sound system installed in the back, front drivers behind the seats, and rears and sub in the van section, dunno where I'll put the head unit for the second system yet though. It's gotta be easily accessible by the driver of course.
btw I have a number of big subs and amps all new (Chinese made of course, but it's the best from China) left over from an internet business I attempted to start a few years back. I am gonna list em for sale at some point when I get around to it, In the meantime, if anybody reading this is looking at doing up their stereo with a big amp, and sub, feel free to message me, its all high quality mosfet electronics, just no flash brand name and without ridiculous labels like "3000 Watts" written on em. Most are about 120 - 140 W RMS and frequency response close on 20 - 20,000 hz. (Hi Fi). Hi/lo pass filters, daisy chain option, remote start etc.
120 W RMS is bigger than most of the stuff the big brand names etc make even when they call it 1500W (plus) PMPO, but most buyers don't understand the RMS rating..... or frequency response, so I gave up on selling it for a while, but I'll list it eventually.
Anyways, Its good to know about that in dash driver, great for replacing the original, I might have to get one of those too!
