After buying all the conversion bits, sump, mounts, crossmember etc, the ls went in with plenty of room to spare.

Sweet ride, love the wheels and LS1, is that a HQ quad headlight front or later model, did you paint under the body whilst you had the chassis out from under it? great work so far well done

Ahhh thought so. How do you find it...sturdy enough? I had one supporting a BBC & T400 and was very underwhelmed with it. Maybe it didn't like the extra weight of said engine & trans.

    Great pics....thanks for sharing

Convo pros are a great wheel choice for HQs

Is that other motor you have sitting in the shed a 308 and for sale by chance?

Thanks mate, the front is off a hq stato, I wire wheeled the underbody to bare metal and used kbs rust seal then a thick layer of body deadener. I have heaps more pics.

I haven't test driven her yet but it seems like it's well constructed, the ls motor would be a far whack lighter then a BBC so hopefully it doesn't bounce round under there

Mate props to you! What a job. no stone un-turned there

I know a bloke who did this conversion on an HX. It drives really really well. Total spin out going for a drive in an old panno that pulls like a commy!

anyways that resto cost him around $150,000... outta my league :(
