I must be the only bloke on the planet that doesn't like morphine. Last operation I ended up without pain killers as they made me feel even worse!!!!
Was all over by the time I found out.... Put the wind up the surgeons though, I was a fit, healthy 18yr old and had a massive heart attack 10 seconds after putting me under. I am one in four million, severely allergic to narcotics.... No morphine, pethedine etc for me.

worse part was they didn't even fix my knee.... Had to go back in a week later, they used gas the second time around....

That's full on. Was there any damage to your ticker after that? Like Dave said, that's a hell of a way to find out.

If ever you're in Melbourne...I'll be sure to make you some herbal tea

Way too old and slow for them now mate, but just being able to do the things we take for granted in life will be great.

I live within 100m of the most beautiful surf beach and go to sleep every night to the sound of waves crashing on the shore. Since I had my accident (17/4/2013) I haven't been able to surf. I watch all my mates running or riding down to the beach every day and it's been driving me crazy, so a surf as soon as my shoulder can take my body weight will be very high on my list.

Obviously, riding a bike again at a (reasonably) serious level is also a priority and having a few rounds of golf at the local Par3 course with my wife are going to take up a bit of my leisure time.

BMX in the local skatepark with some of my talented customers will be fun too. I'm not real crazy with the tricks, but can manage a few and would probably be the best Over-50 BMX local. (Not hard.... there aren't many)

So yeah, I've got a lot to look forward to in the next 6 months or so.

Thanks again everyone for your support.
Vans.... This is the 2nd time round the block, 40 years later! talk about turning back the clock!
