Well, this project is dragging on a fair bit. Its been a year and a half since i bought my chassis home for some final tinkering. Good news is that its done and off to sandblasting before returning to the panel shop. Managed to achieve jigging the engine with new bracketing, cleaned the rails, cut and welded pipe access for the rear fuel fill and installed the extra fake 'fuel tank' for the battery pack. Dropped it off at sandblaster today so the garage is finally empty again. Phew...couple of pics below

Well, after a disastrous enamel experience, the chassis is now back on track. Re-sandblasting is finished, two part epoxy applied and delivered back to panel shop today. Now I can let them finish it in 2 pack and then its time for reassembly. Tip for new players, never ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever start a project without understanding the difference between paint types! It definitely bit me on the arse.

Yep, that's the one. I was offered a chassis paint job as part of the original sandblast 4 years back and didn't think about what was being applied. My panel shop picked it up when we pulled the body off the chassis some time back. Painter looked at it funny, grabbed some thinners and a rag, gave it a wipe and it disintegrated. This is why I'm repeating the early work now. Lesson learned...the hard way.

was pretty popular for a 'quick flick' pre sale years ago when 2k was expensive. I think painters referred to it as jam. try sanding that shit!

good to see it's all sorted now
