And ironically the U.S cops cant keep their finger of the trigger!!! At least you guys have RWD sedans to choose from for squad cars...we are losing that at a rapid rate in oz ....and thats pretty sh!tty

I'm seeing Dodge Chargers for cop cars here In the D.
I think our cops should be armed,That way the right people will be shot!We have to many do gooders in our country.
If you do the crime, expect to do the time.

    Cheers Kiwivan

Not sure if you guys in the US are still getting our Caprice saloons as squad cars....I remember there was a push to export them but seeing as production here is about to stop, not sure what story is with that. I know the US police were pretty impressed by them....but time seems to be running out.

No it's not like that in Australia. The cops don't have any interest is catching real criminals, they are basically revenue agency.

In NSW traffic & parking fines are seriously excessive when compared to the actual offense. A mate of mine got done last week for double parking in minor suburban street, $236 thank you very much. Poor bugger only earns about $600 a week. He didn't even leave the car or switch the engine off. He sat there for barely 60 seconds while the passenger got a litre of milk at the corner shop. They just take a photo of the car & send it straight to State Revenue, you then argue with them.

The real catch is if you don't pay up, they cancel your license & the rego on any cars that you own.

I love it when they're so tough on crime.

The 'Caprice' that Alien DNA is referring to is the current model WM/WN Holden Caprice (Zeta platform), which Aust exports & sells in the USA as a Chev Caprice PPV. It is not related to the old pre-96 Chev Caprice. The WM/WN Caprice is as large (or maybe larger) than either the older Chevy Caprice or the Crown Vic.

When I was over there in 2102 I saw quite a few of the WMs in Georgia & Florida, nor sure if they have them in all states.

Our cops here carry guns. Maybe youre thinking of England? It always baffles me how they can get their job done over there without guns. Im pretty sure they come in handy every now and then.
