It isn't meant to, just be visible. Read the specs on the Lexus rear drive V8 and even the 6's, you'll be surprised.

You may be right, but the Lexus is far more expensive then a commodore....that wont work in favour of updating the fleet of the police force.

But a Lexus is just a Toyota in disguise with flashy extras, longer warranty and heftier price. Toyota sell the same cars elsewhere in the world as a Toyota albeit stripped down to a price.

Go search Toyota Crown for example.

So do you think theyll be importing V8 vehicles or making a dedicated patrol style car? Because lets face it, a locally made Camry will be a laughing stock of the police. Either way, it will be interesting to see what will happen

I don't know what they'll do. I was just thinking outside the square. I think Dr Terry's 300C is a good possibility too.

With a few minor exceptions, Toyota sedans are FWD & Lexus are RWD, it appears that's how they want it on our market.

Arguably the best Toyota sold in Australia was the MX83 Cressida, which was mysteriously discontinued at the same time as the Lexus brand was introduced.

Crowns aren't FWD, they are AWD - that was the larger Toyota I meant as a possibility here if there is a market. The smaller RWD Lexus IS is or was sold as a Toyota in some markets. But in general you are correct, most are FWD.

How depressing that we are discussing what cop car may be in the future in this country and there is no obvious candidate (or several for that matter), due to the demise of our local car manufacturing.

How did this great country fall so far? It's really sad.....
Vans.... This is the 2nd time round the block, 40 years later! talk about turning back the clock!
