Rare Spares did have one ready to go but have recalled them due to a problem I think with windscreen clips , they will be released early 2015 I have been told and I think price was around $500-$600

The sample of the revised HQ cowl is on the way from the factory for test fit and if approved the production will be done. delivery is expected early 2015.The first production was correct but the second lot one jig moved during assembly. hopefully they have resolved the issue.

Sorry havnt been on much lately- I finally found a wreckers with one that I could check and it's in good condition. I should be collecting tomorrow, I've got a full bever/plenum cut so it goes half way up the pillars and across the middle of the firewall- now I've just got to work out the best way to get it onto my van. My bever is badly rusted as well as some rust creeping up the pillar so I was considering using a fair bit of what I get. Has anyone done this with any advice? I will have a better idea once I've got it

the best thing you can do it cut and shut it. personally if i had to do one i'd cut or unpick through the floor pan join and right through the rocker panels and then through both windscreen pillars. this was done back in the day as a much cheaper faster alternative to what you are looking to achieve, a rust free cowl, plenum, a-pillars and firewall.

Get them to cut across the floor below the firewall join. If your floors are rusty go back to the front to rear floor joint.

Previous owner had done the floors already but just sat new pans in and welded them from above- they have cut through the floor so will be curious to see when I pick it up tomorrow. I'll get some photos up if I can. I'm guessing this will be easier if I detach the body from the chassis?
