They are actually 76 HJ colours.... GMH didn't introduce new colours for the new HX model range, they continued on with the updated HJ colours.

They are actually LX Torana colours, introduced for LX release. LX release was a big thing, and I think it was the first time that the available colours revolved around a car other than a Holden, historically everything else (Statesman aside) followed the colour schemes available on Holden.

Just an update for you all- I went to my mates house to do a thorough inspection of his ute this afternoon. Found the chassis number and it matches the tags! I then pulled out some of the interior to find the original finish inside and yes, the Royal Plum Metallic was visible so I am quite sure that it has never been rebodied etc. This ute appears to be in really good condition, nice and straight and not a lot of rust visible at all.

To correct some things I said earlier- It seems to be a 304 and not a 308, it has VN heads, carb manifold and Holley- looks like a square bore 600 vacuum secondary new generation carby. The shaved fuel filler has only been plated over, so the original shape in the rear quarter is there to return it to standard. The interior is all black now, with what appears to be a long grain vinyl- door trims, hoodliner etc. It has a black console which is now automatic style. It has power steer, standard heater box (No Air). Has a wagon bumper fitted to the rear and a lot of statesman bright wear. Wheel arch stainless trims are in good condition.

Wheels are 17" Speedy Malibu's, wheels and tyres appear to be good condition. That's about all I can remember off the top of my head.

Not 100% sure if it is Absinth yellow, it is similar I think ( Haven't seen it in daylight for a while). We are just starting to do some work on it, decals are a must!
