Help please skinny tag and body number not matching

I think I've read about this on here but can't find the post/reply by HK1837. My 1/77 HX Sandman Ute is an Elizabeth plant build. The numbers on the skinny tag and the body number on the large passenger side tag don't match. From memory this was common at the Elizabeth plant prior to late 1977. Can anyone confirm this (or otherwise) please? There are photos of the tags in one of my albums. Thanks heaps

Most Holdens from HK-HX don't have these matching. It is the exception that they do match in this period.

My 6/77 Sandman Ute doesn't match either, the chassis and ADR plate match so its not a problem. Strangely enough my 7/73 HQ Premier Wagon does match, go figure!
I have the tags from a 4/77 Sydney built HX sedan that has matching numbers on the tags and 2 Melbourne built HX Kingswood utes that don't

I always look for that on tags and thought they had mismatched them so never looked any further , ( didn't notice on yours Kyuss )so is it only at one plant that this happened? The cars that I have are all matching but I'm sure they are all Sydney and Brisbane built .
