i have a home made contraption that will work for you but its not pretty. Just depends if you are going to spend a lot of time looking under the ute?

Nah the top is different where it interfaces with the console. The fundamentals are the same, similar to how a UC Torana one is different.

The WB shifter, was that the cable type shifter that looked like it had a relay/lever set-up or was that a statesman thing? Couldn't imagine that would under a standard console as they are fairly large from memory.

That was an earlier Statesman setup I think, had less vibration than the rod style. The WB T-bar setups i've seen look like the standard HQ-HZ one but have extra hardware at the top. The WB TH350 cable type is still the same basic thing but has extra cable operating stuff on it.
