The seating capacity is a 2, not an upside down 3. It is how they are.
The plates weren't up when I looked at it either but it looks Persian Sand to me.

Possibly, but it is a crap stamping. If this is a "2" it doesn't match the other 2's on the tag very well. Likely to be a different stamp anyway.
A crap stamping with poor alignment along with a poor photo certainly makes it look like an upside down "3".
I'd be giving this car a wide birth.

Don't forget the ID plates were pre-stamped, and the only bits normally to get stamped on when the plate is attached to the car is:

    GVW
    Seating capacity
Numerical part (or part of the numerical part) of the chassis number and suffix.

This is why the GVW and seating capacity are always all over the place and why the 17973A is away from the BHZ. And why the 2 on the seating capacity is slightly different to the others. You see some HX and LX stamped like CLX0 12345M or AHX0 1234M because of this, the 0 is put there earlier on but they don't know the chassis number at least until it goes on late in the assembly process.

You get this info from years of ID plate data and photo and plate collections. We nailed it one day when we found a few cars from the same day that the assembly plant ADR plate stamping machine had broken down, and the final bits were in the same font as the BODY plate and VIN. So it had like BHZ in normal the 12345A in BIG font, and 1860 was in big font as was the 2 or 3 for the seating capacity. The rest was all pre stamped. Obviously they had to run the ADR plates over to the VIN machine so the assembly process didn't stop.

Edit - here it is, just found it.
