I agree with the discussion that the stamp could be an intended 2, (but still looks at a glance like a 3 to me), who could know, but it would always be a debate for this car I think, considering its condition and money for rebuild. The upper tailgate does have what look like factory black outs, (and that could on the pics be reasonably imagined to be the original tailgate, maybe), however the dash fairly evidently hasnt seen work for a long time, but is seemingly intact yellow needle is correct etc - have to wonder why somebody would go to the effort of getting the time periods for this right if it was a replica ten years back, would have been expensive for little reason, if you were gonna allow the car to go to waste like that, so maybe a thought?
HZ8W M 70, and as Byron points out GVW at 2000, looks like peeling factory blackouts also on the doors - peeling, but looks like it was there once, hmmn, but not the windscreen trim (did HZ have black windscreen trim?)
Anyways, gotta agree with the creek running through it suggestion, it's at least been submerged in mud to the floorpan untill pretty recently, look at the tyres.
