Its a 2 it just needs a good clean up Imho. I have come to the conclusion that allot of the number 2 stamped on compliance tags, especially Melbourne stamped, have the tails wrap around so far, that they could be confused as a 3. But to have a 3 seater re-stamped to a 2 the 3 would have to be cocked on an angle to begin with that is pretty unlikely. This all came about after the hq ute I looked at, I had been told that it was a 3 re-stamped but after trying to line a 2 up over the top of a three on my computer and keep it vertical is near impossible. I then got the tags off another Melb built hq sandman ute the other week and it still had the tags attached to the body with the large rivets with putty in the center all orig and the 3 looked exactly the same, could be mistaken for a 2 if you stared at it long enough. Dont know what the moral of this story is I just thought I would share what I found. I would be happy to put the tags up if anyone wants to check it out for themselves.
