Was google'n the other day and found this
This pic was in the local paper in 1976 with a story about heavy traffic in Charlestown, NSW. Toranas, Falcons, couple of vans, HQ's...Great pic

I remember when the traffic looked just like that. It made a lot more sense to me then.
Today it's super ugly Toyota's followed by ugly Nissan followed by something just as ugly from Korea and other such rubbish I don't want to understand.
Great pic Ian, thanks for posting it.
I wholeheartedly agree mate, even though it was 4 years before I was born.
I saw the vans and knew I had to chuck it on here.
The most obvious thing it (the photo) is devoid of, is SUV's. The RAV4 has a lot to answer for!
As I have said before I liked it when you viewed a picture or movie with cars in America (Huge Yank Tanks) or England (Little Pommy Crap) etc because it looked different, it wasn't that Aussie look in the picture. Today a photo from any city with cars visible "could be any city" anywhere in the world. It's a real shame the world is becoming one.
That's very true, not something I'd payed much attention to but now you've mentioned it...
Yeah we're losing our identity. It's a shame.
Even a couple of toranas ian
cool pic brother![]()
