Yeah Robbo, great Aussie way of working life. Only problem with it is when you try the banter on someone who hasn't been exposed to it the tears start flowing.

Agree, always fun on construction sites. Aussies tend to take the p!ss out of each other constantly. I've worked on a few for foreign companies where they import people from all over the world, some struggle with it at first. Took us a year to gte an Indian bloke into the swing of the Aussie way.

I thought I'd been pretty well exposed to the good old Ausie banter, Lived on Campus at University, Worked underground at Mt Isa when I was early 20's, Copper and lead smelters, Gas pipeline, yada yada yada...BUT got into underground coal mining 10 years ago.

Never heard anything like it. Leave your feelings at the gate, and all your friends and families feelings there too. Nothing sacred. Show a weakness and it will be exploited forever. Not that bad as long as you can give it AND take it, but you get those days when you just feel enough's enough, you just can't show it..!

Yeah, your'e right Paddy. You have to be able to cop it as well as serve it up, I worked as a garbo for the last thirteen year's I was in sydney, so I was generally on my own. Even then we were still giving it to each other, courtesy of the radio in all of the truck's. Some of the call's on the radio were absolutely hilarious, however after about 6am we had to quiet down as all the day staff started to arrive in the depot.

    Cheers.
