    It won't go like that. Earth needs to go to clock body. Power to the other two wires. One is the light. The other is power to the clock. You need to snap the adjuster out to start it. If it won't go you start with replacing the capacitors.

    They don't tick either. They hum because the mech is a tuning fork system.

    yep i was earthing it out to the body and the light worked ..
    but no clock .
    just gave the adjuster a snap and away it went ..thanks wb
    funny how it didnt go before when I adjusted it ..any way Ill leave it over night see how it goes

    well its still going wbute ..
    thank you you have saved a me some unnecessary messing around
    any one else may want to try this first as well ..
    I pulled the adjusting knob out and let it flick back in place and away it went..
