Yes it is an Ambulance pack. Why would it have rear doors? GMH only built the base vehicle package, any conversions were done by the aftermarket industry. Same as Taxi pack, Police pack etc etc.
I know a lot of vanners bought these especially during HX when there was no delete option for stripes. Some vanners wanted a higher spec thing they could mural and modify, but didn't want a Sandman. The market for them as Ambulances in HJ was only about 90 a year for both van and cab-chassis but there were lots more made than that. The owner of this one tells me the original owner walked in and wanted a "special order" Premier front and a driveline to tow with. The salesman probably went Yep, I can do that. And grabbed him a BO6 van off the schedule or even out of stock, as GMH would have built them ready to be delivered to the aftermarket Ambulance industry.
