Here we have an original HQ V8 4 speed manual ute. It was originally white with a 253 V8. The ute has been transformed into a Sandman replica with a 308 engine now fitted.
The ute underwent a bare metal body restoration with all rust sections cut out and replaced with sheet metal sections. It has been painted in Barbados Green, 2pack clear over base inside and out.
The gts front fenders are genuine not with welded in flutes.
The interior is all new. New seats, headlining, carpet, door trims, sandman/gts steering wheel, gts dash with new fascia and lenses. the console is original HQ console and is mint.
All of the glass in the ute is new including door, front and rear windscreens.
All of the chrome is new, the stainless trim has been all polished and the light lenses (front and back) are all new.
All new rubbers, seals etc.
The 308 is a black motor and is standard with a Rochester carby and genuine aircleaner. It has power steering and has aircon fitted but not physically plumbed up.
The front and rear suspension have been rebuilt, as have the front disc brakes.(New rotors, rebuilt calipers, etc). The ute has been lowered all round to give it a tough stance.
The gts wheels have been blasted and painted in the original colours.
The ute genuine power windows fitted with a 2 gang switch fitted (new from an el camino) in the rear ashtray section of the console so not to spoil the appearance of the new door trims.
A new flat tonneau cover has been fitted with press studs.
This drives awesome and is extremely reliable.
I am looking at also swaps/trades of another classic/muscle car up to the value of $30k in similar condition.
