i was undercover. hat and all.

i tried to chat with XX7 but there were so many bearded bogans hanging around his ute I couldnt get a sniff. I did have a very long chat with the older fella who owns the brown HX Sandman van (i agree it looks very brown but it's supposed to be VZ/VE Ignition). Lovely bloke. $20,000 panel and paint bill (including fill ins). He has owned it since 30,000kms and it was a daily until resto started 6 years ago. Still has original 253 (warm?) and 4 speed with 3.08 now. A miracle van imo. He said after 30 years out in the WA weather the only rust was rockers, RH floor pan, cowls and RH a-pillar. He reckons he stumbled on it in a yard when he crashed his HG Monaro and was looking for a ride. They gave him $1000 for his monaro and he paid $6,800 change over.

Anyone get a pic of it? I didnt take any photos. There was a very original HQ 253 GTS coupe in a sparkly dark brown that I completely fell in love with.
OK turn out I thought. Very few spectators though when i was there. It was sooo hot in the sun!!!!!!!!

Deep that I didnt get to meet any of the mysandman members though. I was only there an hour tops
