Hi all,the plans are to leave it stock but would like to paint it the original colour taupe metallic which is a champagne/silver colour.the dog is investigating a growl in the gearbox ha ha,the bulbar weighs a ton with the bash plate joined to it, the front came up 2 inches when i took it off.the rear cargo area is like brand new its never had anything rolling around in it.the biggest disappointment is the seat vinyl being hard and crackly if anyone know how to soften vinyl i would be keen to try it,i have tried everything so far with no luck.
Yeah get the correct colour on it, will look superb.
Glad to hear the farm gate bullbar and bash plate have been banished. Not sure on the vinyl softening, I remember Rob Madden (A1 Performance/Oznos) selling Az-Nu tyre softener that really softens up rubber - might be worth a shot? Lets us now if you find a successful answer.
Thanks all for your comments,Innuendo i have tried, vaseline, palmers cocoa butter, nivea hand softener, auto glim vinyl softener, mothers ,meguires, mineral oil,nu finish vinyl restorer, automatic fluid, oakwood leather/vinyl softener, and some old super petrol.i put it in the sun and it is soft and supple but ten minutes in the shade hard and brittle again,i will have to get Az Nu and give it a try.
Try some brake fluid on a section you don't care about also.
Thanks i will give it a try i have nothing lose brake fluid is supposedly used to soften rubber so it may work.
