When i spoke to him he told me it was a matching numbers Sandman. So by the looks of it it's not matching numbers and it's not a Sandman. Seems his story has morphed into 'prototype'. Please don't read into this as a negative post but I hate being lied to, especially when he knew I was so far away.

It is what it is. As is, where is. Why sell the the story? It makes no difference to the tangible vehicle.

I hope you bring her back from the brink and what a great combo! 308 HQ PV, so sick!
Mate, sucks to me BS'ed to!

Funny, he didn't tell me any of that.

I asked for numbers, they didn't add up, he told me he didn't want to deceive anybody and changed the ad straight away.

Then in a matter of hours he dropped the price.

Like I said in the thread about it, he seemed like a nice guy and genuine to me, maybe you broke him in vombil LMAO

It's a real V8 HQ van. That's as cool as anything else.

Bummer! But it is worth something to someone who needs all the HQ goodies. Good luck with the sale.

It is the original body for the tags, unless someone has been very arsey.

Sorry to hear you bad news Rockape. Saw your ad on ebay, it looks like you'd get more for parts than what your asking, but I guess you may not have the time (or inclination I'm guessing) to pull it apart. It just may be the best way to recoup your hard earned lost if you had a bit of time up your sleave, seeing that it seems to have some tasty parts on it (unless they're toast too).

sometimes you have to take a hit as a reality check i reckon, we've all been there. I think a distinct lack of time and the fact that most of us have jobs means that you can't always get there to look. put it down to life experience.

that fella sent me images of your van before you bought it and all I could see was scrap value. no rust in the floors...apparently

Damn shame would have been a great van to restore minus the side windows, credit to you for all your honesty in the way you have advertised it , a lot of people after being stung would have been trying to unload it on to someone else with just the thought of trying to recoup there money you obviously have a lot of integrity and should be applauded for your brutal assessment of the van, if only the same could be said about the person you bought it off. I hope you get most of your money back good luck.

Hey guys. Haven't been on here for a bit.
Yes it is a shame but such is life. Not the end of the world though and as someone said, we have all been here. I'll lose a few $ but worse things happen at sea, as my dear old nan used to say hehe.

Possibly the saddest part for me is how anyone could just let this van sit and rot away. It has obviously been hidden somewhere because it is not missing even a bit of trim, nor a light, let alone any of the desirable fruit it's packed with - I mean anyone could have reefed the console in 20 seconds. It's very strange and very intriguing to me. As I have said a million times, I wish these things could talk.

No rust in the floors hey? **** me. They have huge holes in them, clearly visible without even pushing the buckets forward. This guy is just a blatant liar - I could never do business like that - and can't believe that anyone that loves these old things could even fathom bullsh1tting a fellow enthusiast. It's a 2 seat 5L HQ - it doesn't need the crap stories and false picture painted - it's as cool as hell how it is - but I'TS ROOTED - just say it.

Yeah I could wreck it but can't be bothered and just way too busy with work - AND the thought of dealing with a thousand know alls for each part listed really doesn't inspire me. There is a hell of a lot of good gear in it but. I'll sell it I reckon.

Cheers to the above 3 posters and thanks for your nice words. All good, she'll be right. Go the Hawks.
