It's a 6 cylinder van. Don't sink too much money into it doing a original restoration. Go for modified.

If that's the way to go WB, I do have a couple of spare V8's kicking around the joint. On that topic, would it be wrong of me to rebuild the ute to original, but chuck a worked small block Chev donk into it? I don't really know the "ins and outs" of what's acceptable or not in the world of Sandman yet.
Thanks, I'll check out the Rego rules up here (NT) before I commit.
If the vans matching keep the block and build a v8 and sale time add the orig eng and it's a sweet deal buyer gets a v8 sandy plus it's original eng and the ute build it how ya want if ya doth have all original gear who cares it's yours ,will still get good money for it , unless ya like me and hoard bits and don't sell nothin cause as soon As you sell it ya lookin for it. Lol!
Umm, like I said, I'm new to this, I've had holden Utes, toners and even the odd "H" statesmans, for most of my younger life, pulled em apart, put em back together and kept em going, but I don't know how to find out if an engine No matches a body or chassis, point me in the right direction please.

Oh, just asking.... I put a photo of my ute up as my profile picture, I can't see it when I post, can anyone else?
No way of knowing if its the original engine unless you have the original purchase documents. You can make an educated guess but that's all.
Or PM me the engine number and i'll find out.
