I mention it Byron because it's fun to rev you up! Your a hair splitter and the general consensus it that they are in fact Chev engines (right or wrong).
It's just like you bang on about Statesman's not being a Holden etc. If you use a search engine you will find the Gen III LS engine and Chev as one in the same.
It matters not, I just find it funny you need to mention that YOU know it's not a Chev....

The fact remains though that an LS1 is not a Chevrolet engine, it is a GM engine. Chevrolet ceased engine production way before the LS engines were first used in production cars. It was used in Chevrolet branded cars, Holden branded cars, Pontiac branded cars etc etc. Anyone can call an LS engine a Chev engine if they want, just as I could put it in a Monaro and call it a Holden or Pontiac engine, i'd be just as correct!
It is also very clear that a Statesman isn't a Holden, it was never intended to be, just another fact lost in people's perceptions.
